Kiwi Jetsprinting TV goes live worldwide
By Jetpro
New Zealand Jetsprinting TV is to go out live to the world when the Parker ENZED Championship kicks off over Xmas. In what is a very exciting development for Jetsprinting, www.speedbox.tv will broadcast live TV action from each of the six rounds of the Parker ENZED Championship on their pay to view site on the internet. For US$6.95 per round, viewers will be able to watch the blow by blow action for its full duration - from the qualifying until the winners are decided. An extended highlights package will also be available to be downloaded from www.speedbox.tv after the event.
“Jetsprinting is a unique Kiwi sport, and although it is raced in several countries now, it is still New Zealand that offers the premium competition with the Parker ENZED Championships” said Mr Norton Isaac of Speedbox.tv “Our research tells us that Jetsprinting will bring in a large worldwide audience for our pay to view internet downloads” Mr Isaac added.
Speedbox.tv will pick up the TV signal already being recorded at the Jetsprints for later replay on TV3 and SKY in New Zealand, and will add their own commentary to provide a high quality live broadcast. Speedbox.tv will offer three streams with a maximum speed of up to 1 MB per viewer providing high quality live images. Speedbox.tv are expecting the majority of its viewers to be watching the broadcasts from overseas as Kiwi Jetsprinting has a strong overseas following and the high speed of the Internet services in many overseas countries allows high quality live TV images to be streamed easily.
“We are really excited about this opportunity for our keen overseas and Kiwi Jetsprint fans” commented Ross Teesdale, General Manager of series organiser Jetpro Ltd. “Speedbox.tv will allow anyone with a reasonable speed internet connection to watch our events anywhere in the world – they will get hours of coverage for just a few dollars”.
In New Zealand Internet download speeds commonly available are very slow by international standards, meaning kiwi’s using what we call ‘broadband’ may have to settle for watching the live coverage using a smaller scale screen. Those few Kiwi’s lucky enough to be able to access true high speed internet, such as TelstraClear’s 10MB service offered in parts of Christchurch and Wellington, should be able to enjoy full screen images live.
Post event highlights TV packages will screen as usual in New Zealand on TV3 and SKY Sport. Overseas broadcasters also screen Kiwi Jetsprinting TV through out much of the world with Europe, Asia and the UK regular buyers of the post event highlights coverage and TV Networks in the USA now also beginning to screen the coverage. Kiwi Jetsprinting is growing in profile through out the world, with the addition of the Speedbox.tv live download option, interest is expected to continue to boom worldwide.
