“Bike the Brothers’ Saturday 17th November 2007
The 2nd annual event held from the Raincliff Youth Camp proved an outstanding success, with clear blue skies and good ground conditions. Approximately 200 bikers entered the event from Blenheim north, Christchurch and Waimate and many local entrants. Numbers were slightly down on the 215 entries last year.
The Pleasant Point Lions are sure that this will be an Annual fundraiser for Pleasant Point Township and surrounding district youth related projects. The benefactor from this year’s event is for individuals with disabilities in the SC area.
The support and help from the Lions Club and the communities of Pleasant Point, Raincliff and Rockwood district was exceptional. Local businesses and supporters From Pleasant Point, Albury, Levels, Temuka, Geraldine and Timaru were very generous with providing spot prizes, monetary support, materials & items required to stage such an event. Steve Nally and his Temuka Band provided entertainment and created a great family picnic day atmosphere. Feedback from all attending was most supportive.
The co-operation of local landowners, district councils, local police, St.Johns, REACT Radio personel, Raincliff Youth Camp Trustees, Raincliff, Rockwood and Hazelburn residents proved very generous.
The Principal naming sponsors need to be acknowledged and gave the Pleasant Point Lions Club great financial support: namely L J Hooker Timaru, Accessman And SC Toyota.
