Hewitt holds out the hounds
Triathlete, Andrea Hewitt (Chch) was the hare in the penultimate stage of the Nelson Tour de Femme. Having scorched up the Takaka Hill in the tour’s opening stage Hewitt provided herself a comfortable buffer which she was able to maintain for the duration. Nelson’s Serena Sheridan, the only rider to have completed the tour every year since it’s 2001 inception, has steadily climbed the ranks, finishing second on GC, 1min 05 down on Hewitt while Dale Tye claimed third courtesy of a strong....Read more

Big Crowd gets big action at Jetsprints Round One

Round One of the 2008 Parker ENZED Jetsprint Championships turned on a big day of action for the large crowd that turned out to the Wanganui venue on Thursday (27/12/07).
Always the crowd favourite the Beaurepaires Superboats kept the spectators in suspense as a four way battle developed between Taupo’s Bryan Smith, local favourite Duncan Wilson, 2007 series runner up Daryl Hutton, and Auckland hard charger Graeme Mincham. The 20th Kepler Challenge was started by the only runner who had completed all 19 previous events, Murray Thomas from Alexandra. Kekerengu Moa Hunt
It was beautiful sunny weather for the inaugural Kekerengu Moa Hunt situated on the Kaikoura Coast. Former Marlborough cyclist Andy Reid now living in Lyttleton scorched around the 40km picturesque course in 1hr 51mins and 02 secs and was three minutes clear of 2nd place getter Ben Thomas from Christchurch. Reid dominated the race throughout in what was beautiful racing conditions. He said the course was one of the best he had ever ridden and will be back to defend....Read more...

Some of New Zealand’s leading multisport athletes raced on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th in the annual two day Tuatara Peninsula Race. Over 110 competitors consisting of teams and individuals ran, paddled and mountain biked a total distance of 85km’s from Christchurch to Akaroa.

2008 NZ Lites Jetsprint Championship
Eight Rookie drivers have signed up for the 2008 NZ Lites Jetsprint Championship. NZ Lites is the name for the development class in the Parker ENZED Jetsprint Championships. However with around 500 horsepower (375 KW) available from their 7litre V8 engines and a small alloy hull, the only thing light weight about them is their mass.
